I’m reviewing the website tvtropes.org this time.  TV Tropes is a website database dedicated to giving names to “tropes”, or cliches in several media, such as film, video games, and books.  Some such tropes are Nightmare Fuel, something not intended to be scary, but ends up being really creepy, Getting Crap Past The Radar, where the censors screw up and let an innuendo get into the media (Animaniacs is a prominent example), and Nice Job Breaking It Hero, where, in stopping the bad guy, the protagonist screws things up even worse.  There is even an article titled “TV Tropes Will Ruin Your Life,” which tells how TV Tropes will make you analyze everything.

TV Tropes is EXTREMELY addicting, because you see something interesting, you click on it, read through that, and repeat.  On every article, you will see a link to something interesting, no exceptions.  You may also see a game or movie or whatnot that you like. TV Tropes will then give examples of tropes used in that media.  In trope articles, they give examples of when the trope is used, sometimes leading you to create entirely too many tabs in Internet Explorer or whatever else you’re using.

You can spend hours on TV Tropes before you realize it…and then keep going.  One of its best and worst features is its addictiveness.  It is perfect for wasting time – especially wasting more time than you want to.  Unfortunately, TV Tropes will ruin your life.  But it’s the best way to.

Score: 9.5/10
