Halo 3: ODST was originally intended as an expansion pack to the original Halo 3, but eventually evolved into a stand-alone product. This garnered mixed reactions from fans, as the game is short. Is it worth the sixty bucks? I say yes, but only if you haven’t bought Halo 3 yet. ODST is an impressive attempt to expand the storyline of the Halo universe, while providing a departure from the norm in Halo. You play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, or ODST, about to drop into the Covenant-infested streets of New Mombasa in Kenya in the year 2552. For those who are new to Halo, the Covenant are a coalition of alien races united by the worship of the mysterious race known as the Forerunners. Their leaders have declared humans an affront to their beliefs and ordered our eradication. The game starts with a beautifully animated interactive first-person cutscene (whew, that’s a mouthful) showing the drop from space to the city. You are knocked unconscious by a shockwave and wake up six hours later, with no sign of your unit and only two weapons to see you through. You are introduced to the new health system. Instead of a shield bar that recharges over time, you have a health bar that doesn’t recharge. As a buffer to your health, you also have a limited amount of Stamina to absorb a minimal amount of damage. You can recover health by finding health packs littered on the streets of the city. There is also a new mechanic that allows you to see in the dark. It outlines objects in yellow, allies in green, and enemies in red and is called the VISR. You set off to find out what happened to your squad. (more…)

This game is a huge departure from the previous games. Instead of fighting in World War II, you are fighting in the modern day, with modern guns and modern enemies. Using today’s technology allows people to see in the dark, shoot people with perfect accuracy from three miles off, and find you wherever you are. This adds a new level of danger to the series that wasn’t present before. You play as Sgt. ”Soap” MacTavish, a new recruit of the British S.A.S., or Special Air Services, Captain John Price, Soap’s commanding officer, and Sgt. Paul Jackson of the USMC, or U.S. Marine
Corps. This game has you going up against a madman who wishes to enact a great fear of the 50’s upon the United States: nuclear warfare. (more…)

You may be familiar with the name of Diablo II, as it is one of the most influential games to exist in this decade. It was released in June of 2000, but a decade later, its gameplay and online system still holds up. People make “clones” of it in order to profit off of its success. Two such games are TitanQuest for the PC and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for Game Boy Advance. In the game, you play as one of five classes, the Paladin, the Barbarian, the Sorceress, the Amazon, and the Necromancer. Each of these has different abilities, based on their profession before the events of the game. The Paladin is a holy character and this is reflected in his abilities, such as Holy Shock and Zeal. The Barbarian comes from one of the tribes of the north. Example abilities are War Cry and Leap Attack. The Sorceress is one of a clan of mage women. Example abilities are Fire Wall and Freezing Armor. The Amazon is a master of bows and favors the spear class of melee weapons. Example abilities are Evade and Immolation Arrow. The Necromancer is a master of black magic and manipulating the fabric of existence. Sample abilities are Raise Skeleton and Iron Maiden. Your goal is to destroy the demon Diablo to save the world. Call of Duty is a game about World War II, and is very realistic. (The others in the series aren’t because of the health system. You get hurt, get behind cover, and wait for the blood to fall off of your face your health to regenerate.) You play as an American paratrooper at D-Day, at least at first. Then your team is picked to do some special missions. You also play as a Russian conscript and a British soldier.

This is the most recent book in the Keys to The Kingdom series, following Lady Friday, Sir Thursday, Drowned Wednesday, Grim Tuesday, and Mister Monday. After it comes Lord Sunday, naturally.
While this book answers lots of questions and corrects some false preconceived notions, It fortunately still retains the same mystery as the previous installments, and the writing only gets better and better; the only complaint I had was the the description lacked a bit until the last few chapters… but the immersive plot and beleivable characters more than made up for it.
I don’t want to say too much in the fear of spoiling anything, but I will say that it ends on the ultimate cliffhanger… and I can’t wait until “Sunday’s” release date!
I’d give it a 9.5 out of 10

NBA Inside Drive 2004 Review (Polished) Jay-12/22/2009
Release Date
October 1, 2003
Playability
This game does not include excessive button-mashing like the Gamespot.com review says. Merely tap a button and your wish is the game’s command. Another addition also added defensive lockdown buttons (d-pad). I don’t know much about that because I almost never use it ‘cause I’m good the way it is. But when I have used it HOLY CRAP! The D was almost literally passing the ball to us. With great controls and no button-mashing, this game is just right for people learning sports games and also veterans.
Graphics
The moves are so fluid in this game. But faces show no expression and instead look like face number whatever the heck it is 56 or whatever number it is. But dunks make up for that. There are so many kinds of dunks in the game you can’t count. There When you dunk, it’s not just a dunk, it’s a man walking on air to get to where he needs to be. THE HOOP!

Graphics
The Graphics in this game are NES like in this old fashioned game. Purely black and white. I don’t even think there are explosions at all.

Tony Hawks American Wasteland review
Plot
Tired of being shunned for skating everywhere you move to L.A., the birthplace of skating. Just like your dad says, a girl tells you to chop your mop and change your digs. Then you try to rescue a skater from jail and create the ultimate skate park.
Graphics
I really don’t see anything wrong as the graphics as other game reviews may suggest. Although if you want a more realistic game, I would recommend skate or skate 2.

The first is tron 2. it won’t come out until the summer at least, but I’m getting a good vibe here. The first film was pretty dang good (if not entirely scientifically accurate) and was very enjoyable. This looks like it’ll either completely suck or be completely awesome, and I really hope it’s the latter.
